This is Very Late

Well, it’s been a little longer than my six-week goal, but here we are! I wanted to get one last update in before Baby J 2 makes his appearance.

[NOTE: Reader, this obviously was not published before Baby J 2’s arrival. Think of this update like a rerun of your favorite show or reading the Spark Notes of a series before starting the newest book. I will get another update out to catch you all up fully soon!]

School has gone through several transitions in the few months since we began this year. One of our sweet families moved away, taking two of my students with them. The Lord was clearly guiding them, but it was still a sad loss for us. But God also brought us one new student the week that the other family left! She and her family have been a great blessing to our school. We have moved out of preparing for the play (Harvey – the students did a fabulous job!) and into preparing for competition and hopefully Bible quiz. In the midst of all this, one of our staff members stepped away from the Defined program. We were able to adjust accordingly, and the students and our ICA team handled the adjustments so well! Next transition for the school is my maternity leave which is coming up in just a week! Thankfully, we have a very experienced teacher (in fact, she taught many of the classes I’m currently teaching for many years until she retired from ICA last year) coming in to cover for me. Now I just need to make sure I prepare well for her.

Brad and his crew have been staying busy! They continued to work on the bathrooms in Broken I and were able to get them to a functional spot. That remodeling project is part of a larger overhaul for the Mojava, which is our store in Broken I. The appraisal deadline for the home is December 15th, so they’re in crunch time! Things are rolling along quite nicely though, and Brad is confident they’ll meet the deadline – as long as the baby doesn’t decide to come this week.

[NOTE: These are the appraisal pictures. Spoiler: Brad and the crew finished on time, and the baby did not come the week I wrote this update.]

On the personal side, fall is a busy time for us. There are church events, like our Fall Festival, where we gave out something like 16,000 pieces of candy and served our community by sharing the Gospel with them. Some of the ladies from church also threw me a sweet baby shower. Our entire immediate family and many of our extended family members and friends also have birthdays in October-December. Brad hit the big 3-0, then I had a birthday, and our son turned two! He is quite the young man, always wanting to help and be just like Daddy.

God has abundantly provided for us! We are continually amazed at His lovingkindness and His overflowing generosity to us.

We would love to hear from you!
