Important Jezowski Updates!

We are finally able to share this important update we’ve been working on since January: I will not be continuing as the administrator/principal at ICA next year (or in the foreseeable future)!

You have questions? Let me try to answer some, but first, some background info:

A little over two years ago, my team director came to me and asked me to consider taking over the administrator/principal role at ICA. I agreed to two years of training and seeing if it was a good fit for me, for our family, and for the school.

Three days later, I found out I was pregnant with our son.

I truly believe this was the Lord’s timing. I don’t think I would have said yes if I had known we were expecting, but I also believe that the last two years have been valuable for me in many ways.

This school year, I had a hard time keeping up with everything I needed to as a church member, wife, mom, homemaker, teacher, and administrator. I love being a mom and investing the best of my energy into my home and family and church, and I was struggling to do so.

I ended up talking with my bosses after several discussions with Brad and explained that I wanted to finish out the school year, but that we didn’t think it would be best for me to continue to take on that role. They were very gracious and understanding and I am thankful for their support!

So what does that mean? Well, hopefully it means that I have less responsibility at work, which hopefully translates to more energy at home. I will still be teaching, and I will still have some administrative duties, but we think there will be less work needing to be done outside of work hours. It also means a lot of trusting God’s timing and His work in my heart and the hearts of those around us, as it was a difficult decision to make knowing that there is not a clear option for the administrator role. Our previous administrator will retain the title and some of the work, but as I alluded to earlier, the rest will be split amongst the teaching team.

Our only full-time teacher has also decided to move on to other jobs here at camp. This means we are looking for someone to fill that role for the upcoming school year. We are trusting the Lord and His timing in all these moving pieces. Hopefully that all answers your questions!

Summer has been flying by! We just finished the third and final week of our sponsored camps after only one week of staff training. This was a major change for us and it seems to have gone fairly smoothly for our first time trying it. There are many new things about this summer, including changes to the Leadership Thrive program.

Speaking of, Brad was able to give a Thrive contract to one of his crew from last year, and he signed it! This is Trevor’s third summer working with Brad and we are so excited to be able to continue to invest in him. Brad also has a summer staff guy and two other veteran Leadership Live guys who work with him. They are working on a staff home and a home for the Ministry Connect program and are making excellent progress!

We are also thrilled to let y’all know that we are expecting our second baby boy in December! We can’t wait to meet this sweet babe!

We are trying out this new system of blogging our updates. Please let us know how you like it! It allows for you to check out old updates and pictures more easily, and it also makes the management of the email list a little easier. On our end, it’s also more intuitive and helpful than a mailing list. I promise to update more often and upload more pictures if this format works well for you guys!

Prayer Requests:

-Healthy pregnancy

-New teacher for ICA

-Good progress on projects for Brad’s crew

-Additional support

Praises:

-A new blessing to add to our family

-Successful end of school year

-Successful beginning of summer
